The Day of Prayer and Vision
When the well runs dry
"But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
Jeremiah 17:7,8 NIV
You've chosen to walk this path in your Day of Prayer and Vision because you sense your "well is running dry." The Source of the spring is the Lord himself. Today's the day to draw away and find refreshment in His presence.
Don't be discouraged if your emotions do not match your decision. Gather your Bible, journal, notes, hymnbook and CD's and follow your plan. God is waiting to spend some time with you! As you go, trust that today He will break through the silence and the waiting will be over. There is no doubt that "dark nights" are long and painful. However, a new and more significant level of relationship with Him waits for you!
Today journaling is more crucial than ever, and you need to record
as much as possible. Write down what you are thinking, feeling, observing
and reading. Be sure and ask the hard questions. Record any ideas, solutions,
or answers the Lord brings to your mind - and even those you "think
up yourself." Take along some extra sheets from your Day of Prayer
and Vision journal; you will need them!
